Estimating Your Clean Energy Reward

Due to increased participation, all funds for Clean Energy Rewards have been allocated.  The Department of Environmental Protection still encourages consumers, businesses and organizations to consider making the switch to clean energy.  The price for clean energy can be competitive with regular electricity service and clean energy is better for our environment.  Plus, should you switch to clean energy and additional rewards become available, you will be automatically enrolled in the program based on your date of purchase.  Rewards will not be retroactive, but will continue from the point of enrollment in the program.  See the list of suppliers below for options available in our area.

Would you like to find out when rewards become available?  Email us to join a waiting list.

Shop around!  Click on the links in the chart below to find the clean energy product right for you.  Contact the supplier directly if you have specific product questions or need assistance signing-up.

Also, be aware of all contract stipulations before switching energy suppliers.  If you signed-up with a competitive energy supplier, i.e., an energy supplier other than your utility company, and you would like to cancel your contract before your contract term is complete, you may be subject to early termination fees.  Additionally, early cancelation may prohibit you from signing up with that or another Clean Energy Rewards supplier in the future.  Ask your supplier for more details.

Note: All REC marketers participating the in the Clean Energy Rewards program have been certified by the Department of Environmental Protection as suppliers of clean energy.  Only those products listed in the chart below are eligible for Clean Energy Rewards.

Step 3: Receive Clean Energy Rewards.

You will receive a confirmation form the energy supplier or REC marketer once they have processed your application.  Then you will get rewards automatically!

If you change energy suppliers the rewards will appear on your electricity bill as a credit.  Click here to see what a Clean Energy Rewards electric bill looks like.

If you purchase RECs the reward will appear as a discount off of the per unit price of the REC.  You will receive a “welcome packet” from the REC marketer indicating the number of RECs you purchased.

Remember!  Buying RECs is in addition to your electricity bill so you will still get an electric bill, or you will still pay electricity through your rent or lease.

If you have solar panels on your home or business Montgomery County will send you a check for the clean energy you generate annually.  Click here to learn more.
