Handbook of Water Use and Conservation

WATERWEB_cover.jpg (39316 bytes)"Those of us privileged to work with Amy Vickers have long wanted to bottle and distribute her encyclopedic knowledge of how to use water wisely and productively. Now she's done it. Her masterful book Handbook of Water Use and Conservation (WaterPlow Press, 2001) will long stand as the definitive work on demand-side aqueous solutions. It's clear, sound, thorough, modern, practical, profitable, and inspiring. Buy it, read it, practice it, publicize it, and the world's ominous water problems will soon be...liquidated." - Amory B. "Water - Use It Wisely" Public Information Campaign

The "Water - Use it Wisely" conservation campaign, created by Phoenix advertising and marketing firm Park&Co, received the Crescordia Award for Environmental Education at the 21st Annual Environmental Excellence Awards, held at the Phoenician Resort in Phoenix on September 21, 2001.

The Environmental Excellence Awards are presented by the Valley Forward Association to recognize outstanding contributions to the physical environment of Valley communities. The Crescordia--from a Greek term meaning "to grow in harmony"--is the highest honor awarded in each category, which this year included environmental education, innovative technologies, individual achievements, art in public places, and media.

You can tour the complete campaign and learn how you can run it in your area by visiting the award-winning web site at www.wateruseitwisely.com.

Watering is very often the most wasteful and expensive of solutions, with improper watering or overwatering leading to even more short and long-term problems for the landscape. To keep your corner of the globe green, it is best to become WaterWise.
