Want to join thousands of individuals working together to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the Washington Metropolitan Area?  Consider participating in the Cool Capital Challenge, a local consortium of individuals, businesses, governments and institutions pledging to reduce the region's carbon dioxide emissions by 1 billion pounds before Earth Day, April 2008.

Using the Challenge's built-in calculator and action guide, simply determine your current carbon footprint and make a reduction goal (shoot for 40%!).  Better yet, organize a team within your civic group, congregation, or school that pledges to decrease the group’s carbon emissions.

The Cool Capital Challenge will help you reduce your carbon footprint and calculate the savings realized as a result of your actions.  Let's work together to do our part to decrease carbon emissions and provide a model to other regions around the nation!
