MONTGOMERY HILLS 

 Background

Montgomery Hills is located at Georgia Avenue and Seminary Roads just south of the Capital Beltway.  This area is divided into two distinct areas, the Georgia Avenue commercial area and the side streets and alleys that connect the residential community with the commercial area. Proposed Improvements

The Georgia Avenue commercial area plan will provide new, wider sidewalks conforming to ADA standards and more greenery (shrubs and trees) to soften the hard edge of the roadway.  In addition to these improvements, banners and new signage will be incorporated as well. (Aerial map of improvements).

For the side streets, the plan will provide new ADA compliant sidewalks with streetlights, shrubs, trees and signage. 

Budget

This plan may provide up to 2,000 linear feet of streetscape improvements for the commercial areas of Montgomery Hills (along Georgia Avenue) and up to 1,000 linear feet for the side streets for an estimated cost of $600,000.
