Purpose
Inform communities of major transportation programs and services
Solicit community comment on transportation policies and needs
Resolve citizen issues concerning safety or service delivery needs
Coordinate pedestrian safety education, enforcement, and engineering work to achieve the County Executive's announced Pedestrian Safety Initiative, December, 2007.
Ways MCDOT Conducts Outreach
MCDOT consists of five divisions plus the Director’s Office. Citizens can call the Department Hotline Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5:00pm at 240-777-6000.

Trash Free Potomac Watershed Initiative
MCDOT provides funding and staff support to the regional public outreach component of this initiative. The County Executive and several members of the County Council have signed the Trash Treaty which enlists the support of local jurisdictions in working to achieve a trash-free Potomac River by 2013.
