The 23rd Annual Amateur Photography Contest
The Annual Amateur Photography competition is now closed! Photographs of County locations and residents were accepted and judged on effective composition, originality, interest, technique and relevance of the subject matter. The subject categories included Montgomery County... By Day, By Night, Landmarks, Her People, and persons At Work. There was also an optional Youth category for those aged 18 and younger who wish to be judged against each other.
This contest is CLOSED.
WHO MAY ENTER?
Photographs must be taken in Montgomery County by a Montgomery County resident and submitted by the individual who took the photo. Applications were mailed to photo clubs, photo processing and photo equipment stores, regional service centers, high school and middle school's that offer photography classes, in addition to public libraries, senior and recreation centers.
EXPLANATION OF CATEGORIES:
There are six (6) designated categories that provides the residents of the County with an opportunity to show off their photography skills and beauty of the County. This annual contest celebrates the physical and natural features of the County as well as its residents.
Photos taken outdoors during the day that depicts something fun, beautiful or exciting during daylight hours.
Photos taken outdoors of a natural or manmade commonly recognized landmark or scene.
Photos taken outdoors that depicts something fun, beautiful or exciting during nighttime hours.

|Photos taken of one or more persons involved in County activites, close-up or distant, showing leisure activity, productivity, or community service.||Photos taken of one or more persons at work, contributing to the livability and splendor of our County.||
This category will allow only those age 18 and younger to participate and compete against each other.
WHO WILL JUDGE?
Juding is now taking place, photographs will be judged by accomplished local photographers in the area who volunteer their time and expertise. The judging is based on originality, interest of subject matter, visual appeal, and consistency with the chosen categorical theme.
HOW WILL WINNERS BE HONORED?
Photo winners will be announced at the Beautification Ceremony scheduled in mid October, this ceremony is by invitation only. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be presented with a certificate, award and gift.
