Teleworking offers one of the most effective ways to respond to the unique challenges presented by SafeTrack, the year-long effort to improve the safety and reliability of the Metrorail transit system. Disruption will be systemic for an extended period of time. Telework can provide your organization a way to address employee and management concerns, maintain or even improve productivity, and provide effective solutions for mobility during SafeTrack.
Given the urgency of finding commuting solutions during SafeTrack, this webinar will provide the necessary details for getting started quickly with a telework program. Our webinar instructor, Elham Shirazi, has over 30 years of experience in developing telework programs for the private, public and non-profit sectors. Learn key implementation steps such as developing a policy and basic procedures, selecting the right employees and jobs, and adapting your organizational culture for employees working remotely anywhere from one day a week to full time during SafeTrack. Representatives from local organizations also present summaries of their telework programs. And free expert consulting will be available to help you get started at your organization!
Good News for Montgomery County Employers and Commuters in the New Year!
Good news for commuters who use public transportation or vanpool. Starting January 1, the federal transit benefit for public transportation will nearly double to $255 per month.
Now transit riders and vanpoolers will have the same tax benefits as those who drive and park.
The increase, approved by Congress last month and signed by President Obama, permanently raised the pre-tax and tax-free commuter benefit making it more affordable to use public transportation. These benefits apply to those commuters who take MTA Commuter Bus, Metro bus, Metro rail, Ride On and vanpools.
