ABSENTEE BALLOT APPLICATIONS NOW AVAILABLE
Voters may now request an application to vote by absentee ballot for the Presidential Primary Election on Election Day (April 3, 2012).
To obtain the application electronically, visit our website – http://www.777vote.org/ – and select Absentee Voting. Follow the instructions for completing the application which may be mailed or, if already a registered voter, faxed (240-777-8560) or e-mailed ( absentee@montgomerycountymd.gov) to the Board of Elections. To obtain an application for another person, please call 240-777-8550 for detailed information.
The deadline for receipt of your completed application for an absentee ballot by mail is March 27, 2012 at 8:00 p.m., or 11:59 p.m. if requesting via fax or e-mail. After that date, absentee ballot applications may be requested in person at our office – 18753 N. Frederick Avenue, Suite 210, in Gaithersburg. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Saturday, March 10, from 1 to 5 p.m., and on Saturday March 24 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday March 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Once you receive your absentee ballot, consider the following:
• Do not allow anyone to assist you in voting unless it is a family member, trusted family friend, or Board of Elections’ representative; • Do not allow anyone else to fill out your ballot; • Do not give your ballot to a stranger – mail it yourself; and finally • Report any suspicious calls or circumstances to the State Attorney’s Office (410-576-6300 or 1-888-743-0023 toll free in Maryland and via TDD at 410-576-6372).
