MCEO NO. 68-05:  DEPARTMENT OF TECHNOLOGY SERVICES - Cable Television Rates.  This is an executive order by the County Executive setting cable television rates for equipment and installation pursuant to FCC form 1205 filed on or about April 1, 2004.  Effective Date:  3/31/05.

 

MCEO NO. 83-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Wheaton/Glenmont.  RESCIND all parking regulations from traffic order 195-78 on west side of Grandview Ave. from Blueridge Ave. to Kensington Blvd, REMOVE:  No Parking Any Time on west side of Grandview Ave. from 211' south of Blueridge Ave. to 297' south of same, from 333' south of Blueridge Ave. to Kensington Blvd., Two-Hour Parking 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Except Sunday on west side of Grandview Ave. from 297' south of Blueridge Ave. to 333' south of same; INSTALL:  No Parking Any Time on west side of Grandview Ave. from Blueridge Ave. to 34' south of same, from 173' south of Blueridge Ave. to 253' south of Blueridge Ave., from 415' south of Blueridge Ave. to Kensington Blvd. Two-Hour Parking 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Every Sunday on west side of Grandview Ave. from 34' south of Blueridge Ave. to 70' south of same, from 138' south of Blueridge Ave. to 173' south of same, No Stopping Any Time on west side of Grandview Ave. from 70' south of Blueridge Ave. to 138' south of Blueridge Ave.   Effective Date:  3/18/2005.

 

MCEO NO. 84-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Rockville.  REMOVE:  No Parking Any Time on both sides of Medical Center Dr. from Great Seneca Hwy. to Key West Ave.;  INSTALL:  No Parking Any Time on west side of Medical Center Drive from Key West Ave. to 135' south of Medical Center Way, on the north side of Medical Center Dr. from 129' east of the westernmost driveway for the Shady Grove Adventist Hospital to 65' west of the westernmost driveway for the Shady Grove Adventists Hospital,  from 105' east of Broschart Rd. to Broschart Rd., from Broschart Rd. to Great Seneca Highway, on south and east sides of Medical Center Dr. from Great Seneca Hwy to Key West Ave.  Effective Date:  3/22/05.

 

MCEO NO. 85-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Robert F. Nine and Helen L. Nine, Norbeck Road Extended - CIP Project No. 509321.  The option contract between Robert F. Nine and Helen L. Nine and Montgomery County for the purchase of land and granting of an easement for the Norbeck Road Extended  project is hereby accepted.  The county attorney is directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the land and easement.  Effective Date:  3/25/05. 

 

MCEO NO. 86-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Abandonment of a Portion of Kensington Blvd., Wheaton, Maryland.  A public hearing was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday,  April 6, 2005, at 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland, in the EOB Lobby Conference Room to consider an application received from Linowes and Blocher on behalf of Anchor Inn Properties, LLC,  Grandview Properties, LLC, Old Bladensburg Properties, LLC, and 114316 Georgia Ave. General Partnership, seeking abandonment of a portion of Kensington Blvd. adjoining property owned by the applicants in Wheaton.  The Hearing Officer will report his findings and recommendations to the County Executive for further consideration as prescribed by County Code.  Effective Date:  3/25/05.

 

MCEO NO. 87-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Rex Earl Hollis, II and Claudia Anne Hollis, Fairland Road Improvement - CIP Project No. 500402.  The option contract between Rex Earl Hollis, II, and Claudia Anne Hollis and Montgomery County Maryland for the granting of an easement for the Fairland Road Improvement Project is hereby accepted.  The county attorney is directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the easement.  Effective Date:  3/25/05.

 

MCEO NO. 88-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Steven L. Twain and Sheri E. Twain, Old Columbia Round About CIP Project No. 509963.  The option contract between Steven L. Twain and Cheri E. Twain and Montgomery County for the granting of an easement for the Old Columbia Round About Project is hereby accepted.  The county attorney is hereby directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the easement.  Effective Date:   3/25/05.

  

MCEO NO. 89-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Todd Compton Liberty Mill Road Sidewalk - CIP Project No. 509036.  The option contract between Todd Compton and Montgomery County, Maryland, for the granting of an easement for the Liberty Mill Road Sidewalk - CIP NO. 509036, is hereby accepted.  The county attorney is hereby directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the easement.  Effective Date:  3/25/05.

 

MCEO NO. 90-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION  - Acceptance of Option Contract with Ramamurthi Sundar and Chitra Sundar, Muncaster Road Improvement, CIP Project
No. 509943.  The option contract between Ramamurthi Sundar and Chitra Sundar and Montgomery County Maryland for granting of an easement for the Muncaster Road Improvement Project is hereby accepted. The county attorney is directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the easement. Effective Date:  3/25/05.

 

MCEO NO. 91-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Mohamad Sakr and Lamis Kayali Sakr, Muncaster Road Improvement CIP Project
No. 509943.  The option contract between Mohamad Sakr and Lamis Kayali Sakra and Montgomery County Maryland for granting of an easement for the Muncaster Road Improvement Project is hereby accepted.  The county attorney is hereby directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the easement.  Effective Date:   3/25/05. 

 

MCEO NO. 92-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Acceptance of Option Contract with Patricia R. Beno and John R. Beno, Manor Park Drive, CIP Project No. 508180.  The option contract between Patricia R. Beno and John R. Beno and Montgomery County Maryland for the granting of easements for the Manor Park Drive Project is hereby accepted.  The county attorney is directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the easements.  Effective Date:  3/25/05. 

 

MCEO NO. 93-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Wheaton/Glenmont.  INSTALL:  Stop for northbound traffic on Pearson St. at Decatur Ave.  Effective Date:  3/23/05. 

 

MCEO NO. 94-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Wheaton/Glenmont.  INSTALL:  No Parking Any Time on both sides of Hunters Ln. from 50' north of Randolph Rd. to Randolph Rd.  Effective Date:  3/23/05.

 

MCEO NO. 95-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Rockville.  INSTALL:  Stop on Buckwood Ln. from westbound traffic at Whisperwood Ln., on Whisperwood Ct. for westbound traffic at Whisperwood Ln.  Effective Date:  3/23/05.

 

MCEO NO. 96-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - INSTALL:  No Parking 10 PM - 6 AM on west side of Seven Locks Rd. from Tuckerman Ln. to the extended northern curb line of Seven Hill Ln.  Effective Date:  3/24/05. 

 

MCEO NO. 97-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Silver Spring.  Pursuant to Section 31-2 and 31-10, Montgomery County Code, 1994, as amended, this order directs DPWT to INSTALL and/or REMOVE the following traffic and/or parking control devices at the designated locations.  REMOVE:  Traffic Order 110-04, 8a, Thirty-Minute Parking 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday---Parking Sales Office Only---on the northwest side of Ellsworth Dr. from 595' southwest of Spring St. to 675' southwest of Spring St.; INSTALL:  Thirty-Minute Parking 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday---Parking Sales Office Only---on northwest side of Ellsworth Dr. from 595' southwest of Spring St. to 675' southwest of Spring St.  Effective Date:  3/28/05.

 

MCEO NO. 107-05:  OFFICE OF THE COUNTY ATTORNEY - Non-Local Park Acquisition.  Whereas the County Executive has determined that acquisition of the  Watts Branch Stream Valley Park, Unit 2  is necessary in the public interest, and the determination was made after a public hearing held on March 31, 2005, and was approved for acquisition in the FY 05 Capital Budget, the county attorney is directed to acquire by purchase or condemnation the property owned by David L. Cahoon known as Watts Branch Stream Valley Park, Unit 2, consisting of 8.3 acres.  Effective Date:  4/06/05.

 

MCEO NO. 108-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Silent Valley Lane/Dufief Drive Sidewalk (CIP #506747).  The County Executive finds that public interest requires construction of a sidewalk in a public right-of-way located in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  A public hearing was held on January 20, 2005, after which the hearing examiner recommended approval of the project, and this order authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation to proceed with the construction.  A concrete sidewalk, 1100 linear feet long, 4 feet wide, and conforming to the requirements of the ADA, will be built on the north side of Silent Valley Ln. from Happy Choice Ln. to 11605 Silent Valley Ln. and on both sides of Dufief Dr. from Darnestown Rd. to 400' south. Silent Valley Ln. is a secondary residential roadway with a 60' public right-of-way  and on-street public parking allowed on both sides.  The sidewalk will be constructed with 4  feet of greenspace between the sidewalk and existing edge of roadway.  Dufief Dr. is classified as primary residential roadway with a 70' public right-of-way and on-street parking  on both sides.  The sidewalk will be constructed with no green space between it and the new curb and gutter.  The total estimated coast of the project is $50,600.00 which is to be payable from funds appropriated for CIP 506747.  Effective Date:  4/13/05. 

 

MCEO NO. 109-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - US29/Colesville Rd. Sidewalk  (CIP #506747).  The County Executive finds that public interest requires construction of a sidewalk in a public right-of-way located in Silver Spring, Maryland.  A public hearing was held on January 20, 2005, after which the hearing examiner recommended approval of the project and this order authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation to proceed with the construction.  A concrete sidewalk, 615 linear feet long, 5 feet wide and conforming to the requirements of the ADA, will be built at the on the west side of Colesville Road from Saint Andrews Way to 9316 Colesville Road at the back of curb and gutter.   Colesville Road is classified as a major roadway approximately 86' wide with a variable width public right-of-way.  The total estimated cost of the sidewalk project is $29,700.00 which is to be payable from funds appropriated for CIP 506747.  Effective Date:  4/13/05. 

 

MCEO NO. 110-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Bayswater Road Sidewalk  (#506747).  The County Executive finds that public interest requires construction of a sidewalk in a public right-of-way located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. A public hearing was held on January 20, 2005, after which the hearing examiner recommended approval of the project and this order authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation to proceed with the construction.  A concrete sidewalk, 2300 linear feet long, 4 feet wide and conforming to the requirements of the ADA, will be built on the north side of Bayswater Road from Horn Point Dr. to Fernshire Rd.   Bayswater Road is classified as a secondary residential roadway approximately 26' wide with a 60' public right-of-way and on street parking is allowed on both sides of the street.  The sidewalk will be constructed with a variable greenspace of 4 to 11' of greenspace between the sidewalk and curb.  The total estimated cost of the sidewalk project is $80,550.00 which is to be payable from funds appropriated for CIP 506747.  Effective Date:  4/13/05. 

 

MCEO NO. 111-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Hampden Lane Sidewalk (CIP 506747).  The County Executive finds that public interest requires construction of a sidewalk in a public right-of-way located in Bethesda, Maryland. A public hearing was held on January 20, 2005, after which the hearing examiner recommended approval of the project and this order authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation to proceed with the construction.  A concrete sidewalk, 350 linear feet long, 4 feet wide and conforming to the requirements of the ADA, will be built on the north side of Hampden Ln. from Exeter Rd. to 5211 Hampden Ln.  Hampden Ln. is classified as a closed section secondary residential roadway approximately 20' wide with a 50' public right-of-way and on street parking is allowed on the south side of the street.  There are approximately 15' of available public right-of-way on the north side of Hampden Ln. and the sidewalk will be constructed with a variable greenspace.  The total estimated cost of the sidewalk project is $13.475.00 which is to be payable from funds appropriated for CIP 506747.  Effective Date:  4/13/05.

 

MCEO NO. 112-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Fernshire Road Sidewalk (CIP 506747).  The County Executive finds that public interest requires construction of a sidewalk in a public right-of-way located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. A public hearing was held on January 20, 2005, after which the hearing examiner recommended approval of the project and this order authorizes the Director of the Department of Public Works and Transportation to proceed with the construction.  A concrete sidewalk, 500 linear feet long, 4 feet wide and conforming to the requirements of the ADA, will be built at the on the north side of Fernshire Road from Bayswater Rd. to Longdraft Rd.   Fernshire Road is classified as a secondary residential roadway approximately 26' wide with a 60' public right-of-way and on-street parking is allowed on both sides of the street.  There are approximately 17' of available public right-of-way on the north side of Fernshire Rd. and the sidewalk will be constructed with a variable greenspace of 4 to 11' of greenspace between the sidewalk and curb.  The total estimated cost of the sidewalk project is $19,250.00 which is to be payable from funds appropriated for CIP 506747.  Effective Date:  4/13/05.
