MCEO NO. 335-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Robey Road CIP Project 5092785.  The option contract between Doreen Braimbridge and Montgomery County, Maryland, for granting of easements for the Robey Road project is accepted.  The County Attorney is hereby directed to take all necessary steps to acquire the easements.  Effective Date:  11/14/05.

 

MCEO NO. 336-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Wheaton/Glenmont.  Remove No Parking School Days 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM on west side of Goodhill Rd. from Isbell St. to Janet Rd., on west side of Goodhill Rd. from 40' south of Janet Rd. to 35' north of Isbell St.  Effective Date:  11/10/05.

MCEO NO. 339--05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Wheaton/Glenmont.  Remove School Zone on Weller Rd. from Greenly St. to Matey Rd., Fines Double School Days 8 AM - 4 PM on Weller Rd. from Greenly St. to Matey Rd.,  School Speed Limit 25 When Flashing for east and westbound Weller Rd. from 75' west of Valleywood Dr. to 25' east of Greenly St.  Effective Date:  11/16/05.

 

MCEO NO. 340-05:  DEPARTMENT OF  PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Traffic Order - Gaithersburg.  Install No Parking Any Time on north side of Cassna Ave. from 35' east of the eastern access for 7901 Cassna Ave. to 35' west of the eastern access for 7901 Cassna Ave.  Effective Date:  11/14/2005.

 

MCEO NO. 341-05:  FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE -Fire Lane Establishment.  A Fire Lane has been established as described in this order. The department is ordered to post fire lane signs and paint curbs/pavement (painting optional) as identified. When signs and paint work have been completed, this order will authorize the enforcement of this Fire Lane by appropriate police and fire officials. Compliance with this order must be achieved within 30 days of receipt.  Location:  Montgomery College, Takoma Park Campus, 7600 Takoma Ave.  Signs must be posted so that it is not possible to park a vehicle without being in sight of a sign. There is a $250 fine for parking in a fire lane.  Effective Date:  11/22/05.

 

MCEO NO. 342-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - New Hampshire Ave. at Oakview Dr (CIP 507017).  A public hearing will be held at 3:00 PM on February 2, 2006, in the lobby level auditorium of the Executive Office Building at 101 Monroe St. in Rockville, Maryland  20850, to consider a proposal to provide intersection improvements within public ways located in Silver Spring, Maryland.  Improvements at the intersection of New Hampshire Ave. and Oakview Dr. will include:  1) 7' lane widening on south side of Oakview Dr. at the intersection of MD 650; 2) provide new sidewalk and ramps along Oakview Dr. conforming to ADA requirements; 3) provide new storm drainage structures at intersection; 4) provide new bituminous concrete overlay along Oakview Dr.  The total estimated cost of the proposed improvement including engineering, land acquisition, site improvements and construction is $422,953.00 and shall be made payable from funds appropriated for CIP Project No. 507017.  The purpose of the public hearing is to get public comments to help the hearing examiner in the determination of whether or not to authorize this project.  Effective Date:  11/28/05.

 

MCEO NO. 343-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Shady Grove Spur Road (CIP 500204)  The County Executive finds that public interest requires certain construction projects to improve the Shady Grove Spur Road as follows:  1) modifications to the intersection of Darnestown Rd. at Shady Grove Rd., Darnestown Rd. at Glen Mill Rd. and a new intersection on Shady Grove Rd. with a new quadrant or spur roadway; 2) widening Glen Mill Rd. from its intersection with Wootton Parkway to its intersection with Darnestown Rd. from 3 lanes to 6 lanes; 3) a new quadrant roadway in the northeast corner of Shady Grove Rd. and Darnestown Rd. intersection with new and modified traffic signal installations that will result in the division of left-turning traffic from the intersection of Darnestown Rd. at Shady Grove Rd. via the quadrant roadway; 4) an 8' wide bituminous hiker/biker path along the east/north side of proposed spur road; 5) a 5 foot wide concrete sidewalk along the east side of Shady Grove Rd. south of Darnestown Rd. for approximately 400 linear feet.  Enclosed storm drainage, and any necessary storm water management, landscaping, and street lighting are also proposed.  A public hearing was held on the project at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2005, in the lobby level auditorium of the EOB at 101 Monroe Street in Rockville, Maryland 20850.  The hearing examiner recommended approval of the project.  The total estimated cost of the project is $1,660,000.00 to be paid for from funds approved for CIP Project No. 500204.  Effective Date:  11/29/05.

MCEO NO. 345-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Neelsville Church Road Sidewalk (CIP 506747).  A public hearing will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2006, in the lobby level auditorium of the Executive Office Building located at 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland to consider a proposal to provide safe pedestrian travel along the north side of Neelsville Church Road from Shakespeare Blvd. to Scenery Dr. in Germantown, Maryland.  A concrete sidewalk, 5' wide and 2760' long and conforming to ADA requirements, will be built on the north side of Neelsville Church Rd. from Shakespeare Blvd. to Scenery Drive.  Neelsville Church Road is classified as a secondary residential roadway and has a variable width public right-of-way.  The total estimated cost of the project is $115,223.68 which will be paid for from funds appropriated for CIP Project No. 506747.  Effective Date:  12/06/05.

 

MCEO NO. 346-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Glen Cove Parkway Sidewalk (CIP #506747).  A public hearing will be held at 3:30 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2006, in the lobby level auditorium of the Executive Office building located at 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland to consider a proposal to provide safe pedestrian travel along the east side of Glen Cove Parkway from Baltimore Ave. to the existing sidewalk at Allan Terrace located in Bethesda, Maryland.  A concrete sidewalk, 4' wide and 360' long, that will conform to the ADA requirements will be built.  Glen Cove Parkway is classified as a secondary residential roadway and has an 80' public right-of-way.  The existing roadway is approximately 26 feet wide.  On street parking is allowed on both sides of the roadway and there is 45' of available public right-of-way on the east side of Glen Cove Parkway.  The new sidewalk, curb and gutter will be constructed within the existing roadway to avoid tree removal and impacts to creek.  Effort will be taken to avoid causing disturbance within the public right-of-way.  The total estimated cost for the project will be $37,696.56 and will be paid for from funds from the CIP Project No. 506747.  Effective Date:  12/02/05.

 

MCEO NO. 347-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Rainbow Drive Sidewalk (CIP #506747).  A public hearing will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2006, in the lobby level auditorium of the Executive Office Building at 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland to consider a proposal to provide safe pedestrian travel along the south side of Rainbow Drive from Good Hope to 12101 Rainbow Dr. located in Silver Spring, Maryland.  A concrete sidewalk, 4' wide and 2116' long conforming to the requirements of the ADA, will be built on the south side of Rainbow Dr. which is classified as a primary residential roadway and has a 70 foot public right-of-way.  On street parking is allowed on both sides of the roadway.  There are approximately 17' of available public right-of-way on the south side of Rainbow Dr.  The sidewalk will be constructed with a varying greenspace between the sidewalk and the edge of the roadway.  The total estimated cost of the project is $69,828.00 and it will be paid for from funds from the CIP Project No. 506747.  Effective Date:  12/02/05.

 

MCEO NO. 348-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Good Hope Road Sidewalk (CIP 506747).  A public hearing will be held at 4:30 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2006, in the lobby level auditorium of the Executive Office Building at 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland to consider a proposal to provide safe pedestrian travel along the east side of Good Hope Road from the park entrance to Hopefield Rd. located in Silver Spring, Maryland.  A concrete sidewalk, 4' wide and 2400' long, will be built on the east side of Goodhope Rd. which is classified as a primary residential roadway and has a variable width public right-of-way.  The existing roadway is 22' wide with 15' of available public right-of-way on east side of Good Hope Rd.  The sidewalk will be constructed with a varying greenspace between the sidewalk and edge of roadway.  The total estimated cost of the project is $128,383.00 and it will be paid for from funds from the CIP Project No. 506747.  Effective Date:  12/02/05.

 

MCEO NO. 349-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Elm Street Sidewalk (CIP 506747).  A public hearing will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2006, in the lobby level auditorium of the Executive Office Building at 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland to consider a proposal to provide safe pedestrian travel along the south side of Elm Street from Exeter Road to Clarendon Road located in Bethesda, Maryland.  A concrete sidewalk, 4' wide and 630' long, will be built on the south side of Elm Street which is classified as a secondary residential roadway and has a 60' public right-of-way.  The existing roadway is 24' wide with 18' of available public right-of-way on south side of Elm Street.  The sidewalk will be constructed at the back of the new concrete curb and gutter.  The total estimated cost of the project is $63,872.16 and it will be paid for from funds from the CIP Project 506747. Effective Date:  12/02/04.

 

MCEO NO. 350-05:  DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AND TRANSPORTATION - Clarendon Road Sidewalk (CIP 506747).  A public hearing will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, January 26, 2006, in the lobby level auditorium of the Executive Office Building at 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, Maryland to consider a proposal to provide safe pedestrian travel along the west side of Clarendon Road from Fairfax Road to Exeter Rd, located in Bethesda, Maryland.  A concrete sidewalk, 4' wide and 600' long and conforming to the requirements of the ADA, will be built on the west side of Clarendon Rd. which is classified as a secondary residential roadway and has a 80' public right-of-way.  The existing roadway is 26' wide with 50' of available public right-of-way on west side of Clarendon Rd from Fairfax Rd. to Exeter Rd.  The sidewalk will be constructed with a varying greenspace between the sidewalk and edge of roadway.  The total estimated cost of the project is $29,304.66 and it will be paid for from funds from the CIP Project No. 506747.  Effective Date:  12/02/05.
