MCER NO. 14-14:  ADOPTED DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES REGULATION
Smoking, Tobacco and Nicotine Prohibitions and Restrictions
 
SUMMARY:  This regulation is established to coincide with changes to Montgomery County Code (2014) Section 24-9 as a result of Montgomery County Bill 33-12 prohibiting smoking on all County owned and leased property and bus stops or stands; Council Resolution 17-210 prohibiting smoking in indoor common spaces of multi-family residential property and within 25 feet of playgrounds on such property; and Montgomery County Bill 56-14 which places certain restrictions and controls on the use and sale of e-cigarettes and other electronic nicotine delivery devices.
 
ACTION: Executive Regulation 14-14 was approved by the County Council according to the Method 2 review process, effective August 1, 2016.

MCER NO. 10-16:  ADOPTED OFFICE OF THE CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER REGULATION
                        Montgomery County Comprehensive Economic Strategy
 
SUMMARY:  The Comprehensive Economic Strategy (CES) proposes a set of strategies to advance the County’s future economic prosperity.  As a comprehensive blueprint for the continued economic prosperity of the County, the CES addresses issues of business vitality (including target industries), talent, creative economies (including entrepreneurship), and placemaking, all with the goal of increasing access to jobs, enhancing the success of the County’s businesses, and expanding the tax base.
 
ACTION:  Executive Regulation 10-16 was approved by the County Council according to the Method 1 review process, effective October 18, 2016.
