Levalbuterol
is a nebulizer solution (Xopenex) used to treat and/or prevent bronchospasms
in asthmatics. Prophylactally, it is sometimes used mixed in combination
with a nebulized corticosteroid, such as Pulmacort Respules.
It is currently
NOT approved for prehospital use in Maryland
