	Crew member from the first arriving unit

	The first officer designated by the Incident Commander. Should be appointed within the first minute after arrival.

	The triage Officer is responsible for:
	Determining whether to use ribbons or triage tags with ribbons for INITIAL triage Performing a START triage of the scene and/or assigning crew members from other arriving units to do START triage. Organizing a secondary triage of all patients after completion of the initial START triage. Assisting treatment crews and stretcher bearers in locating patients by priority.
