    The Montgomery County Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program (VASAP) provides services to victims of crime, their family and significant others. VASAP serves victims of crimes such as rape, sexual assault, homicide (surviving family and friends), driving while intoxicated (DWI), and vehicular manslaughter victims, terrorism, torture, hate violence, robbery, carjacking, purse snatching, assault, battery, stalking, harassment, auto theft, burglary, arson, larceny, vandalism, and adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

    VASAP provides crisis, individual and group counseling, victim assistance through the criminal justice system, assistance in applying to the Maryland Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, compensation for income-eligible victims from the Montgomery County Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund, anonymous third party report of rape and sexual offenses, and educational programs.
