RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS AND
HOME ENERGY PROGRAMS

 Rental Assistance Programs

County Rental Assistance Program (RAP) provides limited monthly assistance with rent to low income seniors, individuals with disabilities and households of two or more.

The RAP program will be open for enrollment June 4, 2012 through June 22, 2012. To be placed on our mailing list to receive a pre-application, please call 240-777-4400. You may also re-visit this website June 4, 2012 through June 22, 2012 to download a pre-application to apply. All households applying during this time period will be placed on a waiting list and randomly selected using a lottery when openings in the program occur.

Handicapped Rental Assistance Program (HRAP) provides monthly financial assistance to individuals that reside in a group home licensed either by the State of Maryland or Montgomery County who have a mental illness which constitutes a disabling condition.

Home Energy Programs

Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) / Electric Universal Services Program (EUSP)
MEAP provides financial assistance for eligible low-in households to pay home heating costs.  Eligibility is determined by income, household size and fuel type.
