Enabling Legislation

The Commission on Aging, established in 1967, operated under the auspices of the County Council until August 1974, when its operation was transferred to the Executive Branch. (read more)

 

Commission Membership

The Commission on Aging consists of no fewer than 18 members appointed by the County Executive, subject to confirmation by the County Council. (read more)

 

Commission on Aging Activities

The Commission on Aging had an active and protective year in 2008 in carrying out its responsibilities to advise and counsel the County Executive, County Council and departments of the county, state and federal government on issues relating to Montgomery County’s seniors. (read more)

Liaison Activities

Commission members act as liaison representatives to other agencies and organizations.  In 2009, they include:

·       Public Guardianship Review Board

·       Recreation Department Advisory Board
