Accessibility Pilot Program Press Release - Montgomery
County Government, Independence Now, and the Maryland Department of
Disabilities have joined together for "Mapping Montgomery"
- a pilot project that will allow people with disabilities and their
families to identify and rate the accessibility of local businesses.
Volunteers are being sought for the project. It is open to persons
with mobility, auditory or visual disabilities and/or their immediate
family members. Read the press release for information on how you
can participate. |

Meeting Schedule for 2012 |
| The meetings of
the Commission on People with Disabilities are open to the public. Meetings
are held at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville,
from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., on the second Wednesday of the month,
except for July* and August*. An Annual Planning Meeting of the
Commission in November for the purpose of setting goals for the
year's activity. As possible, we adjust meeting dates in order to
accommodate days of major religious observances. Please contact
the office to confirm meetings. Inclement Weather Policy:
For consistency, if Montgomery County Public Schools open late, morning
Commission meetings are cancelled; if schools close in the early afternoon,
then late afternoon and evening Commission meetings are cancelled;
or if schools are closed all day all Commission meetings for that
day and evening are cancelled. This applies to full Commission meetings
as well as subcommittees and every activity organized by the Commission. |
