What is the My Turn Program?
Community Support Network's (CSN) My Turn Program provides programmatic and financial assistance to families with children with developmental disabilities ages 3 to 13 years. The program works with families to identify their child's needs and to provide support in the home environment. These services are designed to address the needs of the child outside of services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Public Law 94-142.
What types of services does the My Turn Program offer?
My Turn Program Staff assist the family with accessing information, linking to other resources in the community, designing individual support services, and limited financial assistance with services and products such as medical and equipment. Services may include, but and not limited to: identifying and prioritizing the child's needs, respite, referrals to other resources, CSN newsletter, information in educational seminars, and linkages to other community services (i.e. Social Security Administration, Working Parents Assistance, and the State of Maryland's Developmental Disabilities Administration).
Who is eligible?
Any family residing in Montgomery County who is caring for a child (or children) with a diagnosed developmental disability may call for an intake interview. The child must be between the ages of 3 and 13 years. The child may not be receiving any services through long term funded programs by Montgomery County or the State of Maryland (i.e. DDA, Autism Waiver, etc.)
