Autism
Services Program provides intensive individual support services,
family training (treatment plans, behavior interventions, skills training
and use of equipment), and respite care.
Epilepsy Services Program serves individuals, families,
and the greater community with epilepsy education, information and
referral services, assistance with medical issues, advocacy, support
groups and scholarship support.
Support Services Program is a family-centered program
that focuses on the needs and preferences of adults and families of
a child with a disability. Offers services in areas such as financial
assistance, support, networking and community based resources. |

| Assist
persons with developmental disabilities and their families in times
of crisis, teach adult skills that further their independence,
purchase equipment that helps with mobility and communication, help

| Provide
support and services for people with developmental disabilities and
their families. Offer vocational day programs, supported employment,
residential and support services, and community information and referral,
as well as a variety of child care, after school, and educational
programs. Also administer the Low Intensity Support Services (LISS)
program, which is funded by the DDA. LISS assists individuals or families
with low level, easy access, and short-term supports to avoid a crisis
situation. |

service available to Baltimore County families who have a child with
intensive needs related to mental or behavioral health or a developmental
disability. The website provides useful resources and articles about
child development, educational advocacy, as well as timely information
about workshops and support groups. Families can also speak with a
Family Navigator, who can help them identify their strengths and challenges,
find resources and support, and develop a plan of action. |

mentoring programs for high school students and adults with mental
retardation.
Best Buddies Citizens matches people with intellectual
disabilities in one-to-one friendships with individuals in the corporate
and civic communities.
Best Buddies Colleges pairs people with intellectual
disabilities in one-to-one friendships with college students.
Best Buddies High Schools pairs students with intellectual
disabilities in one-to-one friendships with high school students.
Best Buddies Jobs continues the integration of people
with intellectual disabilities into the community through supported
employment. The program helps individuals attain and maintain jobs
of their own choosing by providing ongoing support and training, enabling
people with intellectual disabilities to earn an income, pay taxes,
and work in an environment alongside others in the community.
Best Buddies Middle Schools is already active on
145 middle school campuses pairing students with intellectual disabilities
in one-to-one friendships.
e-Buddies®
is an e-mail pen pal program for people with an intellectual disability
of all ages (10 years old and up) and peer volunteers from across
the United States and around the globe. |
