low- to moderate-income individuals. From February 1st through April
15th each year, the AARP Tax-Aide program offers free one-on-one counseling,
as well as assistance on the telephone and internet to help individuals
prepare basic tax forms, including the 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ and other
standard schedules. 25 sites are available throughout the County.

qualified seniors needing help paying their bills, organizing their
paperwork, and preparing a budget. To qualify, a Montgomery County
resident must be at least 62 years of age and have an income not to
exceed $45,500 per year for an individual or $52,000 per years a couple.
Service is free and offered by trained volunteers through a partnership
with The Senior Connection, AARP and the Association of Daily Money
Managers. |
