NEW - Montgomery County Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC)

Spring:  A time of many changes, including the long awaited opening of the Montgomery County Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC).

The JAC is a key component of the county's Comprehensive Strategy for Juvenile Justice.  It highlights the integration of evaluation, early intervention and treatment services for children and their families.

The Montgomery County Department of Police/Family Services Division is already working from the new facility, which is located at 7300 Calhoun Place in Rockville.  Several HHS programs are expected to join them within the next month:  HHS's 2-year old Juvenile Justice Services (JJS), which includes Screening and Assessment Services for Children and Adolescents (SASCA), Child and Adolescent Forensic Evaluation (CAFES), and juvenile justice case management, plus two Child Welfare investigation units.  The Maryland State Department of Juvenile Justice will also relocate to the JAC later this year.

More information on the JAC will be posted on future Web pages; stay tuned.
