The Flu Prevention and Care Guide is a two page educational flyer designed to appeal to a wide audience with pictures and minimal text. This resource was created based upon messages within the Montgomery County Stay At Home Toolkit. The Guide focuses on simple steps the public can take to decrease the spread of flu and what items should be collected at home to take care of someone who is ill. The Flu Prevention and Care Guide can assist local health departments and other community organizations communicate basic flu messages to low literate and limited English communities during annual flu season as well as during a pandemic flu, such as during H1N1.
Use of this tool will allow the public health professional to collaborate with community agencies, and increase knowledge among low-literate and limited English communities on basic flu prevention and care strategies.
