Save the Date! Grand Opening: Saturday, June 20 at 11 am
Now that the Silver Spring Library building, located at 8901 Colesville Road, has been closed to the public, branch staff can begin the process of packing books, materials, supplies, equipment and other resources needed in preparation for opening the new library at 900 Wayne Avenue.
Once the building on 8901 Colesville Road has been completely shut down, the same branch staff will move to the new building to begin the final preparation needed to open that facility to serve the community, including:
- Transferring materials from the old branch and adding new books and materials;
- Organizing and shelving materials;
- Organizing staff work areas and furnishings in public areas;
- Becoming familiar with the facility; and
- Training on new equipment.
Community members who used the Silver Spring Library are welcome at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Library of Montgomery College.
You do not need an ID to enter the Library, but in order to use the Library's internet workstations or borrow material you must get a community borrowers' ID. Students under the age of 18 must have a parent or responsible person complete the application. The College is not responsible for unaccompanied minors who are not participating in a structured program or activity. Montgomery County Public Libraries' materials may not be returned to the Montgomery College Library; return materials to a nearby branch of MCPL, Long Branch, Wheaton, or White Oak.
