Do not drive or walk onto the grounds, even if the construction gate is open. Keep Out signs have been posted. For safety and security reasons, the construction manager will ask anyone entering the site to leave.
The contract for the renovation of the Gaithersburg Library has been awarded to Henley Construction Company, Inc. of Gaithersburg. According to the company’s website, Henley Construction Company, Inc. has a portfolio featuring numerous schools, office buildings, complexes, nursing homes, warehouses, libraries and restaurants. The company was founded in 1964 and was the construction contractor for the original Gaithersburg Library. See the press release.
The major renovation project will expand the 33,700 square-foot structure by adding 22,200 square feet on the main level along the front, back, and sides and 7,900 square feet on a partial second floor that will hold the meeting rooms, mechanical rooms, storage and a satellite office of the Gilchrist Center.
