Troubleshooting Tips — Creating
a NetLibrary Account

"If you have an account, please log
in. If you are a patron of a participating library and do not have an
account,
please contact your library for information on gaining access."
Troubleshooting Tips
NetLibrary uses referring url
technology to authenticate library users and requires that referring
URL's be accepted by firewall and security software. This is to ensure
that only Montgomery County Public Libraries' users have access to NetLibrary.
If you have a firewall, such
as Norton, or other security software on your machine, it may block this
information from being sent to NetLibrary's website,
and NetLibrary is unable to tell that you are a valid
user.
Some adjustments in your firewall settings might be
necessary. Most firewall software will allow you to set up trusted sites.
Once you have made the changes to your firewall, you should be able to
access the site.

If you are unable to create an account after
using our troubleshooting tips, here are some other options.
You can:
- Visit one of our branches and
create your own account on a computer at the library. You will then
be able to login from home.
- Call Ask-a-Librarian
Phone Reference at 240-777-0001 to create your account. Please
note that the librarian will ask you for your library card number,
a username, password, and e-mail address to register.
