Media hook-up provided for live announcement of 30 finalists
Montgomery County has applied for a 2000 All-America City Award, and if selected as a finalist, will compete for the 10 top awards in Louisville in June.
The All-America City Award, a program of the National Civic League sponsored by Allstate Insurance Company, is the oldest and most prestigious civic recognition award in the country. In announcing the 30 national finalists in this year's All-America City Award program, the National Civic League, for the first time, will provide satellite and phone bridge connections for local TV, radio and newspapers, so local media can track the status of their local entrants live.
Satellite Coordinates are: Satellite GE2 (C-Band), Transponder 6; Audio 6.2 and 6.8 MHz. A 15-minute satellite test will begin at 11:15 a.m.
The phone bridge number is: 800-354-6885 Code Word: All-America City Awards.
