COUNTY SPONSORS FREE HALF DAY CONFERENCE
FOR BUSINESSES ON POLLUTION PREVENTION AND
STORMWATER CONTROL
The Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection is sponsoring a free half-day conference for businesses to provide them with information about pollution prevention and stormwater control programs. The conference will be held on March 24, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, in the Executive Office Building Auditorium at 101 Monroe St. in Rockville.
Sessions will be presented by County staff and community business leaders who have successfully implemented programs. Topics include water conservation, natural landscaping, environmental programs at commercial sites, business recycling, options for disposing of hazardous waste from small generators, and stream restoration efforts.
A continental breakfast and refreshments will be served.
Following the conference at noon, County Executive Douglas M. Duncan will present the Fifth Annual Environmental Excellence Awards, given to businesses or organizations that have significantly improved the County's water quality.
To register for the conference or to obtain additional information, call Boyd Church at 240-777-7770. The Executive Office Building is easily accessible from the Rockville Metro station. Parking is also available under the building on the G-2 level of the parking garage accessible from Monroe St.
