Four incumbents are eligible to apply for reappointment.

The 25-member commission advises the County Executive and County Council on government policies, programs and services that enhance community support for high quality, affordable and accessible child care. The commission also helps the County Department of Health and Human Services develop initiatives to help families meet their child care needs.

Members serve three-year terms without compensation. The full commission meets the third Wednesday of each month and subcommittee meetings are held once or twice a month.

Applicants should write by April 7 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan, at the Executive Office Building, l0l Monroe St., Rockville, MD 20850. A letter and brief resume including work and home phone numbers should be enclosed. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.

Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
