COUNTY RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
INCREASES MAXIMUM BENEFIT
Montgomery County's Rental Assistance Program (RAP), which offers financial assistance to eligible low income families to help pay housing rental expenses, is increasing to a maximum benefit of up to $200 monthly. County Executive Douglas M. Duncan proposed the change in benefits as part of the Rewarding Work proposal, and the County Council recently approved the necessary changes in the local law and regulations in support of the increase.
The benefit increase will go into effect beginning May 1, 2000. Eligibility for the program is based on household size, gross income, and rental expenses. Eligibility is based on:
