Law Day 2000 For Older Adults
Untangles Maze of Legal Issues
Law Day 2000 For Older Adults - a day-long seminar which addresses legal issues that impact on the 55+ population - will be held April 27, 2000 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Holiday Park Multiservice Senior Center, 3950 Ferrara Drive, Wheaton. The award-winning program is designed to:
Keynote speaker will be Susan Levine, Washington Post columnist, who will speak about her experiences in writing about and communicating with older adults.
Law Day 2000 speakers will present information on the following topics: How to Select An Attorney; Wills and Trusts; Probate: Don't Let It Scare You; Assisted Living Options; Medicare and the Impact of Managed Care on Medicare; Caregiving and Long Distance Caregiving; and Nuts and Bolts of Social Security & SSI.
The program has been expanded this year to also include legal issues relating to grandparenting, prenuptial agreements and divorce in the senior population.
The early bird registration fee is $15.00 (postmarked by April 7) and $20.00 postmarked thereafter. The fee includes a continental breakfast, box lunch, information packet and admission to seminars. Early registration is recommended to guarantee a space. Registration forms are available at Holiday Park.
