Duncan Seeks Applicants for
Board of License Commissioners

County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill one public member vacancy on the Board of License Commissioners. The board consists of five members and not more than three can be from the same political party. There are currently three Democrats and two Republicans on the Board. The Republican incumbent whose term is expiring intends to apply for reappointment.

The board is responsible for issuing alcoholic beverage licenses, and enforcing the alcoholic beverage laws of the State of Maryland and Montgomery County. Meetings are held the first and third Thursday of each month from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Rockville. Members are compensated at the rate of $9,000 per year.

Applicants should write by April 28 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A brief resume including home and work telephone numbers and political affiliations should be included. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.

Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
