Absentee Ballot Applications
Available Online

Elections officials advise voters who are eligible to vote by absentee ballot in the March 7, 2000 Presidential Primary Election that absentee ballot applications are now available online at the Board of Elections web site.

To obtain the absentee ballot application online, go to the Board of Elections home page at www.co.mo.md.us/services/elections, then click on the link to "2000 Elections" and then the link to "Absentee Voting". Follow all instructions for transmitting the completed application to the Elections Office by mail or fax.

To obtain an absentee ballot application by other means, voters may call the 24-hour Absentee Voting Information Line at 240-777-8565 and leave their names and addresses on voice mail. Absentee ballots may be used if voters meet one of the following guidelines:

  • They will be absent from the County on election day;

  • They have been in an accident, are ill or physically disabled;

  • They are a full-time student;

  • They are confined or restricted to an institution;

  • They have had a death or serious injury in their immediate family.

    The deadline for requesting the application is February 29, 2000. Completed applications must be returned to the Elections Office by that same date.

    For more information, call the Absentee Office at 240-777-8550 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, or via e-mail at absentee@montgomerycountymd.gov.
