Taste of Wheaton
Set for May 21
Great food, exciting entertainment and a variety of children's activities will highlight the 5th Annual Taste of Wheaton on May 21, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Grandview and Ennalls avenues in downtown Wheaton.
Participating restaurants will offer samples of their dishes for $1 a taste. Among the ethnic cuisines represented will be Chinese, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Vietnamese, in addition to traditional American food.
Channel 9 USA TV's Frank Herzog will kick off the activities with a salute to the volunteers and local business community.
The Biscaynes and Bobby & The Believers will provide live entertainment. Children's activities will include a moonbounce, face painting, story time and rides. There will be demonstrations by the Wheaton Rescue Squad, which will feature a mock auto accident and CPR techniques.
Portions of Grandview and Ennalls will be closed during the event. Parking is available at garage 45, located at Amherst Avenue, Reedie Drive and Fern Street. Free shuttle service will be provided from the Fern Street entrance.
The Taste of Wheaton is a drug- and alcohol-free event sponsored by the Wheaton Urban District. The event will be held rain or shine.
