County Receives National Recognition
For 20 Outstanding Programs
This year, Montgomery County received 20 awards for outstanding programs from the National Association of Counties (NACO).
"Montgomery County should be proud of the programs and services it offers its citizens," said County Executive Douglas M. Duncan. "These programs reflect the enthusiasm and commitment of our employees, and I'm pleased that NACO recognizes their efforts.
The following departments and programs received NACO awards:
Health and Human Services - Assisted Living Ombudsman Program; In Home Aide Service Consumer Advisory Committee; PROYECTO SALUD; Child Care Health Consultation Program; My Turn Program; Center for Continuous Learning; Adopt A Social Worker Program; and Teen Pregnancy and Parent Support Teams;
Information Systems and Telecommunications - GIS Intranet Server; Desktop Computer Modernization; Benefits Administration System; and GIS and Agricultural Preservation: Agricultural Land e-valuation Program;
Commission for Women - Work Life Initiative; and Girls in Technology Initiative;
Police - Domestic Violence Unit;
Public Works and Transportation - Technology Based Re-engineering of Capital Projects Management Program;
Environmental Protection - The Clean Water Partners Program; and Environmental Lawn Care;
Economic Development - Business Resource Center; and Community Use of Public Facilities - After School Activity Coordinators.
