Duncan Seeks Applicants For
Criminal Justice Coordinating Commission
County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill one public-at-large vacancy on the Montgomery County Criminal Justice Coordinating Commission. Residents with specialized knowledge and dedicated interest in the field of criminal justice are urged to apply.
The 26-member Commission includes representatives of criminal justice agencies, local municipalities, judges, and elected officials. The Commission is responsible for inquiring into the organization and adequacy of law enforcement and the administration of justice, developing standards and recommendation for the long-range development of programs within the criminal justice system, and coordinating the programs and activities of criminal justice agencies. The Commission also performs an advisory role on crime control and other public safety matters of interest to the government and the community. Members of the CJCC serve without compensation.
Meetings are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. in Rockville. Applicants should write by September 1 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A resume should be included, with work and home phone numbers. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group.
Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council. Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
