Musical, variety acts
Enhance lunch hour
In downtown Silver Spring

Musical and variety street performers will present an array of lunch time impromptu entertainment at various street corners and plazas in downtown Silver Spring on Thursday afternoons between noon and 2 p.m. from August 17 to September 28.

Presented by the Silver Spring Regional Services Center, the series of free performances, entitled "Street Stuff," is intended to enliven the lunch hours of the employees, residents and visitors. To maintain the impromptu feel of the entertainment, the performances will be held each week at a different street corner, park, or plaza.

The schedule of entertainers is:

  • August 17 .... NOAA Courtyard (Colesville Rd. & 410)..... Steel Drum Band, Oasis

  • August 24........ Wayne Ave. & Colesville Road..... Juggler, Mime Nicolo Whimsey

  • August 31........ 1010 Wayne Ave..... Saxophonist, Craig Bazen

  • September 7.....Georgia & Ellsworth Ave..... Country & Western, Ruthie & Wranglers Duo

  • September 14....City Place Entrance & Silver Theater.....Unicycle Lady, Unicycle Lady

  • September 21....Silver Spring Library-Ellsworth Park.....Guitar & Singer, Jack Stanton

  • September 28....Wave Courtyard (1305 East West Highway).....Banjo, Frank Cassel
