Fire & Rescue Services Sponsors
Community Outreach Safety Day

Montgomery County's Department of Fire & Rescue Services is sponsoring a community outreach safety day on Saturday, September 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The community event will be held at Montgomery Blair High School, 51 E. University Boulevard, Silver Spring.

County Executive Douglas M. Duncan and County Council member Phil Andrews will be on hand to present welcoming remarks. Throughout the day, live demonstrations will be conducted by the Special Evacuation Tactics Team; Underwater Rescue Team; Urban Search and Rescue Team; Hazardous Materials Incident Team; Bomb Squad; and Emergency Medical Services staff. The all-day event will also feature fire and rescue vehicles, helicopters, a "Children's Safety Village", child safety seat checks, entertainment and food vendors, and a volunteer and job information booth.
