TRASH DROP-OFF DEPOTS CLOSED FOR THE WEEKEND

The Damascus and Poolesville drop-off sites for bulky trash, normally open on Saturdays and Sundays, will be closed this weekend only because Montgomery County Department of Public Works and Transportation personnel who normally staff the Damascus Highway Services Depot on Ridge Road and the Poolesville Highway Services Depot on Jerusalem Road will be reassigned to snow-plow operations.

Snow removal operations will continue on Friday and Saturday in the upcounty areas because of drifting snow covering previously plowed roads. In addition, more snow is expected this weekend and crews will be mobilized early Sunday morning.

Residents may dispose of regular and bulky trash this weekend at the County's Transfer Station located at 16101 Frederick Rd. (Route 355). On Saturday, the Route 355 entrance to the Transfer Station is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the Shady Grove Road entrance is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Only the Route 355 entrance is open on Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call the Transfer Station at 301-840-2370.
