COUNTY OFFERS COMMUNITY
EMPOWERMENT GRANTS

The Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs (DHCA) is now accepting applications from community groups and non-profit organizations for community empowerment grants. Funding will be given to projects that:

enhance community empowerment through increasing community pride , participation and self-sufficiency;

assist residents in overcoming specific barriers to full participation in the community, and;

address issues of diversity or strengthening multicultural unity in Montgomery County.

Funds will be competitively awarded for fiscal year 2002 (July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002) and must be used for the direct provision of services. Grant funds will be awarded in July 2001.
