Applications may be obtained by calling the Voter Information Service at 240-777-VOTE (8683) before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4. Applications are also available at all public high schools; Montgomery College; county libraries; regional service centers in Silver Spring, Bethesda, Germantown and Wheaton; all offices of the County Health Department; the Motor Vehicle Administration; Department of Social Services; military recruiting offices; the Judicial Center Marriage License Bureau; and all U.S. Post Offices.

Voters can register in person at the Elections Office, 751 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, Monday - weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Special registration sites are scheduled around the county during the final weekend preceding the deadline. Information about these sites will be available from the Voter Information Service at 240-777-VOTE (8683), September 25 through October 13.

Voters may choose to affiliate with one of six recognized political parties in the state -- Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, Green, Constitution or Reform -- or they may decline to affiliate with any of the recognized parties. It is not necessary to be affiliated with any party to be qualified to vote in the upcoming General Election.

Voters who have moved since the last election must notify the election office no later than October 13 at 9 p.m. to retain registration status. Voters should make certain they are registered where they are now living.
