VOTER REGISTRATION
DEADLINE NEARS
Montgomery County residents who wish to vote in the March 7, 2000 Presidential Primary Election are reminded that the deadline for voter registration is 9 p.m. on February 11.
In order to become a registered voter, individuals must be a U.S. citizen, live in Montgomery County, and be at least 18 years of age on or before November 7, 2000.
Applications for the Primary Election may be obtained by calling the Voter Information Service at 240-777-VOTE until Wednesday, February 2. Applications are also available in County libraries, regional services centers, all offices of the County Health and Human Services department, the Motor Vehicle Administration, and all U.S. Post Offices.
Special voter registration sites will be offered by the County's Board of Elections office on the following dates: Saturday, February 5, 1-5 p.m.; Sunday, February 6, 1-5 p.m.; Wednesday, February 9, 6-9 p.m.; Thursday, February 10, 6-9 p.m.; and Friday, February11, 6-9 p.m. The locations include:
City Place, 8661 Colesville Road, Silver Spring;
Kohl's at Milestone Center, 20918 Frederick Road, Germantown;
Montgomery Mall, 7101 Democracy Blvd., Bethesda;
Rio Entertainment Center, 9811 Washingtonian Blvd., Gaithersburg;
Sears at White Oak, 11255 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring; and
Westfield Shoppingtown, 11160 Veirs Mill Rd., Wheaton.
Individuals may also register at the Board of Elections, 751 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, on the following dates: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, February 5 from 1-5 p.m.; Sunday, February 6 from 1-5 p.m., and Friday, February 11 from 8:30 a.m.- 9 p.m.
