Book discussions
Set at Gaithersburg Library
A variety of topics will be covered during the four book discussion programs to be held at the Gaithersburg Regional Library in October.
Wednesday, October 4 - Dr. Joyce Ladner will discuss her new book, "The Ties That Bind - Timeless Values for African-American Families," which addresses the challenge of raising strong children in ambivalent times. Co-sponsored by the Xi Sigma Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. First of a three-part series.
Wednesday, October 11 - Mystery book discussion group will feature "Silver Pigs" by Lindsey Davis. The story, set in Rome during the Vespatian time, introduces the private investigator Marcus Didius Falco.
Thursday, October 12 - Discussion of "Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone," First in the popular series by J.K. Rowling about a young wizard.
