County's eMontgomery Online Services Expand
With Fare Media, Maps and Recreation Registration
Montgomery County's eMontgomery interactive online service for citizens has expanded to include the sale of fare media transportation passes, maps and directions to service facilities, and recreation class registration. Those who have access to a computer and the Internet can easily purchase Ride-On and Metrobus passes, and Metro farecards. They can also call up maps and directions to County facilities, and sign up for recreation classes.
"We want to make County services more accessible and convenient to our residents, and as we add to the lineup of eMontgomery offerings, we are able to bring our services directly into homes and offices at any hour of the day or night," said County Executive Douglas M. Duncan.
The eMontgomery program was initially launched in July, enabling citizens to track permits, apply for jobs, and pay their property taxes - all from the convenience of home. The service also enables citizens to go online to renew library materials, lease space in public facilities and view live traffic video at specific intersections. Since July, the eMontgomery site has attracted more than 1.8 million hits, and collected more than $933,600 in revenue.
Attached is a complete list of all services currently available online.
Upcoming additions to the eMontgomery service will include parking ticket payment, bicycle registration, hazardous materials handling permit renewal, online payment for permits, vendor recycling registration, and other initiatives.
