Montgomery County Pays Tribute to
Top African American Police Officers
at Black History Month Program

In celebration of Black History Month, the public is invited to a program on Thursday, February 3 to honor "Top Black Cops" in the United States. The program, which is sponsored by the County Executive's Office of Community Outreach, will be held at 7 p.m. in the lobby of the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street in Rockville.

Montgomery County Executive Douglas M. Duncan and County Council President Michael L. Subin will be among those honoring the police officers. The keynote address will be given by Montgomery County Chief of Police Charles A. Moose, Ph.D. Distinguished guests include Chief Charles H. Ramsey, Washington, D.C.; Sheriff Alonzo Black, Prince George's County; Major Benjamin Brooks, Pittsburg, PA; and Chief Leonard Cooke, Portsmouth, VA.

The program will feature musical entertainment by the gospel group, Promises of God, and musical selections by Djelani Benn.

All activities are free. Parking is available in the garage under the building on the G-2 level, and across the street in the Stella Werner Council Office Building parking garage, located at the intersection of East Jefferson and Monroe Streets.
