Human Relations Commission Seeks Nominees
for Human Rights Hall of Fame
The Montgomery County Human Relations Commission (HRC) is seeking nominations for individuals to be honored in the County's Human Rights Hall of Fame. Inductees will be nominated by the community and selected by a panel of judges. They should be current or former County residents, living or deceased, who were or still are pioneers and stalwarts in efforts to improve the lives of others.
Selection criteria for Hall of Fame members include exemplary leadership, achievement and lasting impact on housing, public accommodations and employment policies, as well as impact on the social climate in Montgomery County's human rights movement.
Approximately 25 honorees will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during a ceremony on Thursday, March 15, 2001. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Frank H. Woo, a law professor and columnist, who is currently director of the Howard University Legal Clinic.
For nomination application forms or more information, call 240-777-8450.
