Duncan Seeks Applicants To Fill
Water Quality Advisory Group Vacancies

County Executive Douglas M. Duncan is seeking applicants to fill five vacancies on the Water Quality Advisory Group in each of the following categories: one representative of the academic and scientific community, one representative of the agricultural community, one representative of the business community, one representative of the environmental community, and one representative of the general public. These are full-term vacancies expiring in 5/2003. Four incumbents are eligible to apply for reappointment. Individuals from the business community are especially encouraged to apply.

The 18-member committee provides recommendations to the County Executive and County Council by March 1 of each year on issues related to the County's water quality goals, objectives, policies and programs. Members serve three-year terms without compensation. Meetings are held the second Monday evening of each month in the Stella B. Werner Council Office Building, 100 Maryland Avenue, 6th floor conference room, Rockville (near the Rockville Metro Station).

Applicants should write by April 14 to County Executive Douglas M. Duncan at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, MD 20850. A resume, including work and home telephone numbers, should be included. Incumbents reapplying should indicate their employment status in this letter or send an updated resume. Members of County boards, committees and commissions may not serve on more than one such group at a time.

Duncan's appointments are subject to confirmation by the County Council.

Applications of those selected for appointment are made public as part of the confirmation process.
