Battle of the Bands
Set for March 31

Local high school bands will compete for prizes in the Battle of the Bands program to be held on March 31 at the Executive Office Building, 101 Monroe Street, Rockville, from 7 to 11:30 p.m. on the Terrace level.

The grand prize will be a six-hour recording session, courtesy of The Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts. Other prizes will include Kings Dominion passes and various gift certificates.

Cost is $5 per person or $4 with a donation of canned food. Attendees must be in at least the 9th grade and under 21 years of age. ID’s are required.

The Battle of the Bands is presented by the Recreation Department’s Youth Advisory Committee and Montgomery County Students Against Drunk Driving, with support from the Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services, the Division of Transit Services, Drawing the Line on Under 21 Alcohol Use, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and the City of Rockville Recreation and Parks.

Students requiring special assistance, i.e., mainstreaming, financial aid etc. should notify the Montgomery County Recreation Department at 240-777-6961.
