County’s Public Libraries
Celebrate National Library Week
With Enhanced, New-Look Web Site
Montgomery County Public Libraries are observing National Library week --- April 1 through 7– by introducing the newly revised and enhanced web site and accompanying brochure, “What do you need to know? Find it @ your library” that highlights online databases.
Some of the web site’s new features will allow online customers to: search for information on library events by branch, date, type of event and type of audience; locate branches on a map and link to information regarding hours and exact location; and find full text online information for homework and other projects in the re-designed “Sources for Research” section of the main menu.
In addition, customers can access their library card record, change their Personal Identification Number (PIN), or renew materials online.
“The library staff hopes that this new site and brochure will help library customers find and use more library resources and services online,” said Public Libraries Director Harriet Henderson.
The address for the site remains the same – www.montgomerylibrary.org.
Funding for the re-design of the web site was provided by the Friends of the Library of Montgomery County, Maryland, Inc. Montgomery County Public Libraries are currently celebrating their 50th anniversary with a series of programs and special events. For more information on anniversary events, contact the nearest public library.
Comments on the new site and suggestions for future changes or further web site development may be sent to comment@mont.lib.md.us.
