County Issues Citations
For Environmental Violations
On Property in Dawsonville

As the result of a recent investigation on a parcel of property at 16615 Darnestown Road, in the Dawsonville area, three County agencies have served more than 45 citations for environmental violations, totaling approximately $ 23,000 in fines.

The citations were issued to Jack Leigh and Potomac Valley Plumbing in late March by inspectors from the County’s Division of Solid Waste Services and the departments of Environmental Protection (DEP) and Permitting Services. Thirty-four citations were served by Solid Waste Services for improper accumulation of solid waste and dysfunctional vehicles. DEP issued two water quality citations pertaining to sewage on the property and Permitting Services issued 10 citations for handling sewage without a permit.

The citations were served as part of an ongoing investigation into activities on this property and an adjacent 400-acre parcel.
