Clarkson Named Community
Relations Manager

Montgomery County Chief Administrative Officer Bruce Romer has announced the appointment of Ronald Clarkson as Community Relations Manager for the County Executive.

“I’m happy to name Ron Clarkson as the Community Relations Manager,” said Romer. “He has served as the Police/Community Relations Facilitator for the past two years and has performed admirably on behalf of the County. I’m confident that he will continue to do so in his new position.”

As the County’s police/community relations facilitator, Clarkson promoted greater awareness of the police department’s complaint process.

Before coming to Montgomery County, Clarkson worked for the Prince George’s County Police Department as a special projects manager for the Chief of Police, coordinating community outreach activities. He also served as the Police Chief’s liaison to the Citizens Advisory Council. Prior to that, Clarkson served as a development manager for Prince George’s County, working with the police department’s False Alarm Reduction Program. He was also chief of the Prince George’s County Citizen Services Division, where he supervised and coordinated the County’s outreach efforts to citizen groups and organizations.

In his new position, Clarkson will be responsible for managing the Office of Community Outreach, where he will identify and communicate the community’s needs and concerns to the County Executive and Chief Administrative Officer. He will also provide assistance with the daily management of the Boards, Committees and Commissions program. Clarkson will also continue his police/community relations duties as part of his new position.

Clarkson, who assumed his new duties on April 9, holds a bachelor’s degree in government and politics from the University of Maryland.
